Advancing Research Training and Global Collaborations

The National Council for Health & Medical Research (NCHMR) is dedicated to advancing health research through comprehensive support for advanced research training and fostering international collaborations. Our initiatives are designed to cultivate a skilled cadre of health researchers equipped to tackle pressing global health challenges.

Advanced Research Training:

NCHMR offers specialized training programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities of health research personnel. These programs focus on priority areas such as clinical trials, genomics, biotechnology, and modern biology. By upgrading the skills of faculty members, mid-career scientists, and medical students, we aim to create a pool of talented researchers committed to addressing critical health issues. Our training initiatives include short-term and long-term fellowships, workshops, and support for thesis work, ensuring a comprehensive approach to research capacity building.

International Collaborations:

Recognizing the importance of global partnerships, NCHMR actively engages in international collaborations to enhance research outcomes. We have established Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with esteemed institutions worldwide, facilitating joint research projects, knowledge exchange, and capacity building. These collaborations encompass areas such as infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, and non-communicable diseases, reflecting our commitment to addressing both emerging and persistent health challenges.
